playing hooky

Today the weather seemed to beckon every office worker out of their cubicle and into the streets downtown. The City Market absorbed the sun and people flocked there for long lunches on picnic tables outside the Habashi House, Corrolo’s Deli, I Burrito, Bo Ling’s and Succotash Café…and the City Market Coffeehouse opened their garage door back wall. Long lunches extended into the east side of two o’clock, then cell phones opened for texting bosses, checking voicemails, and making dinner arrangements. Productive went out the window today. I love it when people play hooky.
