
Peeling Apples (2009) by Laura Tovar Dietrick
Laura’s painting seems to suggest that this person is thinking about something, perhaps concentrating upon the blade of the knife, or remembering where in the orchard she found these apples so that tomorrow she can return for more after a sunny day of ripening. Or maybe she’s trying to think through the menu for this evening’s dinner party. One pie or two? Or maybe she’s averting her eyes from the person sitting across from her at the table.
