Our local public radio station has a weekday announcer who has lived in Kansas City for 16 years. She was born in England. Her native accent creeps into her announcements often…shed yule, pawd cast, kay cee you ahh, and other lilting accented flairs to mundane words. Equally interesting is the way her accent disappears. Her unusual accent(s) add a bit of panache to the stations sound.
