This afternoon, I found some music by Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington’s background genius, arranger and song writer. Billy’s compositions range from foot stomping memorable (like A Train) to subtle and abstract. Then there are songs like “Lush Life” that defy categorization, atmospheric.
