movement
I wonder what young people think of today’s diminishing opportunities for work. Will they develop a sense of resentment? How do they view the world today? What trends today point to the possible futures? Where I live, it is great to be able to mix with people of all ages. This neighborhood, this downtown possesses some interesting contrasts. From the downtown business area filled with people engaged in banking, law, insurance, and real estate to a crucible of artistic endeavors, to cultural centers of performing arts, to light industrial creation. Plenty of people move in and out of the city each day to work. Diminished jobs for sure. Read about that daily. It seems that young people may have a very confident, relaxed, serene sense of mobility; the need to move to the work. At the same time, young people know that they have the technological ability to move their work to the workplace without moving themselves. That they are their business; their ideas, their “content”. Out and about everyday, here, I do not notice long faces. What I see is movement.
