endpoint...season opener

This week, Random House releases the audio-book of John Updike’s last book of poetry, “Endpoint”. He wrote some of these poems on his deathbed. This week, baseball season begins. Updike was not a sports writer, but he loved baseball. I enjoyed his essay about Ted William’s last game with the Sox in 1960…John Updike called it “Hub Fans Bid the Kid Adieu”.
