the architect has lunch

“So when the people ask you about the project, we need to emphasize this. If they miss the point, they could ask to start from scratch but that can’t happen. We’re too far along to step back again. They won’t listen to me. You have to say it this way. The wall right here can go. Make this space completely open. Shelves over here. Or maybe just leave the space alone and give them a chance to fill it with their own ideas. I’ll be there to answer any detail questions. Just relax and introduce the feel for the place like you did today. We’ll be inside the space this time, so just describe the rooms and let them have time to listen. Take it slow. We have thirty minutes. Let’s get over there and set these up. Thanks for lunch."
