reading prose as poetry

A shift in the way I read. The shift shifts with the writer's voice. Reading Faulkner and Joyce, prose I'm slicing into shorter line bits, inspired by a professor's advice I remembered recently. Colonel Jack Capps, my favorite Faulkner scholar, who once fashioned a Faulkner course of two semesters based upon the interest of a few students. Reminded of Shakespeare's lines, often left justified, short, not always sweet...pre-sliced, the slicing on my own is more than half the fun with Ulysses and Absalom!Absalom!
